Organizational Overview:
Dewo Ngima is a community-based organization located in Kisumu town, Kisumu County, Kenya. Our primary mission is to improve the lives of children and families living in the slum communities of Nyalenda and Obunga by providing educational support, essential resources, and now, critically needed vision rehabilitative care and mental health support. Since our founding in 2015 as a mobile library, we have expanded our focus to address the holistic needs of the community, particularly for special needs children and their families.

By focusing on vision rehabilitative care, mental health support, and economic empowerment, we are creating a comprehensive support system that enables all children, especially those with special needs, to thrive. Our goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their challenges, has the opportunity to live a healthy, educated, and fulfilled life, supported by a strong, self-sufficient family and community.
